Meet Dr. Greenawalt
Dr. James Greenawalt was born in Nagoya, Japan, the son of an Air Force Officer. He grew up in Washington D.C, Hawaii and St. Louis before settling in Oklahoma and graduating from Altus High School. From there he attended the University of Oklahoma graduating from the OU College of Medicine before completing his training in Anesthesiology at OU.
Dr. Greenawalt started his practice as a solo practitioner in Oklahoma City before spending the next twenty-four years in Tulsa with Associated Anesthesiologists. He served as President of the Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists, and President of Associated Anesthesiologists. While in Tulsa, Dr. Greenawalt provided anesthesia care for pediatric and adult cardiac surgeries, adult cardiac transplant, high-risk pediatric cases, as well as a myriad of other cases.
Dr. Greenawalt joined Anesthesia Associates in Spokane, Wa. where he served on the board of directors and Chairman of the Anesthesia Department. While there he was able to summit eight mountains in Glacier National Park and enjoyed winter snowshoeing with his Belgian Malinois, Buddy.
Dr. Greenawalt moved to Raleigh with his wife, Kathy, of thirty-nine years to enjoy the beach, mountains, and regional travel. He enjoys being part of Triangle Implant Center, helping to make the patient’s experience safe and comfortable. He remains a Sooner at heart and will always root for his Oklahoma Sooners. …even against the Tar Heels or Blue Devils.
