Iris Lo, DDS

Born and raised in Toronto, from a young age Dr. Iris Lo has always had a passion for helping people. After moving to Hong Kong to attend high school, Dr. Lo moved across the pond to pursue her undergraduate studies in Economics, French, and Chemistry at New York University.  Dr. Lo then spent two years working as a financial analyst in midtown Manhattan and it was during this time that she realized her true passion: providing care and working in the service of others. Returning to New York University, Dr Lo earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree while receiving both the Dean’s Merit Scholarship Award and International College of Dentists’ Leadership Award.

After practicing general dentistry for several years, Dr. Lo’s experiences working in general dentistry solidified her interest in wanting to manage pain and anxiety in a comprehensive approach to adult and pediatric patients. This led her to complete a rigorous three-year dental anesthesiology residency in the Bronx at St. Barnabas Hospital Health System. During her training, Dr Lo has gained experience in multiple specialties including but not limited to neurosurgery, general surgery and trauma, orthopedics, ENT, plastic surgery, dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. She is proficient in providing intubated and non-intubated general anesthesia, as well as deep and conscious sedation for a variety of dental procedures to patients of all ages.

Committed to offering high quality anesthesia services to her patients, Dr. Lo has been resolute in staying on the cutting edge of anesthesia. She is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a Diplomate with the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, a Fellow of The American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and is Board eligible through the American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists. Her additional certifications include Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. Dr Lo is also fluent in French, Mandarin and Cantonese.

When she’s not on mission trips providing care to the underserved, Dr. Lo enjoys cooking, kayaking, hiking, traveling, and spending quality time with her dog, Rocky.
