Meet Dr. May

Dr. May is a native of rural East Texas. After receiving his B.A from Oral Roberts University he spent the first part of his adult career working with youth, music & missions of the United Methodist Church which brought him to North Carolina. While there he was able to travel extensively to multiple continents and countries doing relief work. He later worked in construction as he prepared for dental school as well as an externship at Triangle Implant Center.

Dr. May attended Virginia Commonwealth University for his D.D.S degree. During his time there he was selected to participate in programs within the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department giving him expanded training and expertise in exodontia and pre-prosthetic surgery. After graduation he served at Piedmont Access to Health Services, a federally qualified health center, in Danville, VA before rejoining Triangle Implant Center. At Triangle Implant Center Dr. May focuses exclusively on removal of wisdom teeth, pre-prosthetic surgery/extractions, and surgical procedures to aid in orthodontic treatment.

As someone committed to improving community health, Dr. May regularly volunteers at multiple free dental clinics around North Carolina and Virginia including Durham Rescue Mission, Wake Smiles, Remote Access Medical, and mostly at the NC Mission Of Mercy clinics which he has volunteered and helped facilitate since 2012. Additionally he holds a position as a Clinical Adjunct Professor at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry where he serves to instruct students at their various safety net clinics.

In his spare time he enjoys renovating houses, maintaining his burgeoning fruit orchard, and spending time with his family.
