Meet Dr. Purdie

Dr. Janay Purdie is a North Carolina native born and raised in Greenville.
Being raised by two nurses, her love for healthcare developed early.  Dr.
Purdie has spent her educational career throughout the state. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree with honors from North Carolina State
University with a major in Animal Science. She attended East Carolina
University School of Dental Medicine where her exposure to Oral Medicine
sparked a strong interest in the field that ultimately granted her the oral
medicine student award. Dr. Purdie is a board-eligible Oral Medicine Specialist. She completed her hospital based General Practice
Residency and Oral Medicine Residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Afterwards she worked as an associate dentist in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Purdie serves as a faculty member for Atrium Health dental residents. She is a member of the America Academy of Oral Medicine, American Dental Association, and North Carolina Dental Society. Her clinical interests include non-surgical management of TMJ disorders, orofacial pain, xerostomia (dry mouth), Sjogren’s syndrome, lichen planus, vesiculoerosive conditions, oral cancer, and oral manifestations of systemic disease.
